Plant-Based Picnic with Nature's Soy

1. Vegan Spam sandwich

If you love spam in sandwiches, you will love this recipe. This vegan spam sandwich recipe gives you an alternative option if you are vegan. By seasoning the tofu, it will taste like meat and is a great replacement to real spam & healthier too! It can be enjoyed as is or paired with bread to create your favorite sandwich!

 

INGREDIENTS

½ package Nature’s Soy Firm Tofu, sliced thin

1 piece of Lettuce

2 pieces of Bread

Vegan Mayonnaise if desired

SEASONING

1 Teaspoon Five Spice Powder

1 Teaspoon Cumin Powder

½ Teaspoon salt

½ Teaspoon Soy Sauce

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1: Season the sliced tofu for 15 mins in the seasonings listed

Step 2: Air fry the seasoned tofu slices for 15 mins on 375 F

Step 3: Place the vegan spam on bread and add lettuce, mayo & enjoy!  

 

2.Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea

A picnic can’t go without a delightful drink! Make a pitcher of this non-dairy version of Boba Milk Tea and take it with you to enjoy on your next picnic. Nature’s Soy Black Tea Soymilk is rich in flavor and perfect for making your own brown sugar boba milk tea.

INGREDIENTS

1 carton of Nature’s Soy Black Tea Soymilk 

Sugar or another Sweetener 

Tapioca Pearls

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1: In a large pot, boil the water. Add tapioca pearls in the boiling water and stir constantly to prevent pears from sticking.  

Step 2: Continue to simmer for 20 minutes uncovered. Remove the pot from the stove, cover with lid and let rest for another 20 minutes.  

Step 3: Strain the boba and put in the cold water. Strain the cold water and add some sugar or other sweetener to the pearls and stir for about 3 minutes  

Step 4: Pour a glass of Nature’s Soy Black Tea Soymilk and add the pearls. Now your delightful ‘Boba Milk Tea’ is ready to enjoy! 

 

3. Japanese Tofu Salad

This easy Japanese Style Tofu Salad is a refreshing salad with lettuce, tofu, cherry tomatoes. You do not need to cook the tofu, as we want to leave the moisture and let it absorb the mild Japanese-style sauce. The Japanese sauce we chose provides you with a refreshing taste. It is super easy to make and goes well with everything. It's a no-brainer for the warmer days. So make a big batch!

INGREDIENTS

1 Package of Nature’s Soy Firm Tofu, pat dry and cut into small chunks

1 bag of Spring Mix Lettuce

5 Cherry Tomatoes, cut in half

Your Favorite Japanese Style Sauce

Sesame Seeds

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Toss tofu cubes, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, and the Japanese style sauce of your choice in a salad bowl.

  2. Top with sesame seeds and enjoy.

 

4.     Five Spice Spring Rolls

Spring rolls are a healthier alternative to egg rolls. The spring roll recipe uses Nature’s Soy Five Spice Flavored Tofu instead of meat. Our Five Spice Flavored Tofu is made from our Extra Firm Tofu and following a traditional production process. The recipe for spring roll is always versatile and it is easy to adapt to any ingredients that you have on hand.

INGREDIENTS:

1 Package of Nature’s Soy Five Spice Flavored sliced thin Tofu.

1 Package of Rice Paper Spring Roll Wraps

1 Carrot

1 Red Bell Pepper

1 Cucumber

¼ Head of Purple Cabbage

1 Cup of Arugula

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1: Start by slicing Nature Soy’s Five Spice Flavored Tofu into 1\2 inch strips.

Step 2: Cut carrot, red bell pepper and cucumber into thin slices.

Step 3: Roughly chop the purple cabbage into smaller pieces.

Step 4: Follow the packaging instructions on the rice paper spring roll wraps and assemble wraps.

Step 5: Start by placing three strips of the tofu in the middle of the rice paper wrap followed by pepper, cucumber, carrot, and cabbage.

Step 6: Add a sprinkle of arugula and fold wraps.

Step 7: Start by folding the two sides of the wrap inward then fold the bottom of the wrap up and continue to roll.

Step 8: Continue assembling wraps until all ingredients are used.
